Fireworks Already?

Fourth of July Rose

Daily Photo

This is a relatively new climbing rose–first offered for sale in 1999. I love the unusual explosive shape of the petals and the white, red and pink almost stripes. Best of all, it blooms a good part of the summer. Also its extremely hardy. A gopher ate half it’s roots last summer and the poor thing nearly died. I tamped it in good, watered it thoroughly, pruned it, and, this year, it is nearly back to full size and blooming early.

Yes, but it is a light fragrance.

I use Photobucket’s editor for the frames and any sharpening, cutting, slashing, hacking, over saturation, etc. that I do.

Beautiful! One of my first jobs was planting bareroot roses at a local nursery. It was a painful albeit beautiful in the end job. My mom loved it because every holiday, she was guarenteed a new rose bush.

Rose are so cliche and so incredibly beautiful. No wonder they are considered the epitome of loveliness.
